What could you start doing right now to help improve your life. Maybe you need to...

Do something right now that you've been putting off.

Exercise.

Throw out junk food or drugs and pick up some healthier food.

Express to your parents that having junk food in the house is making it very difficult for you to lose weight.

Dump an abusive boyfriend or girlfriend.

If someone has been hurting you, tell them, it's not ok with you. Tell them to stop it, or find a new friend.

Replace inactive activities such as television, video games, or surfing the net with more physically active activities in order to lose weight or get more exercise.

Buy a daily planner and write down birthdays so you don't forget them.

Call a hotline to help you with your crisis.
(See our Help Directory.)

Talk to a counselor or another adult about your problems at home. (See our Abuse Section.)

Ask your parents for help.

Check into a drug rehab center.

Go to the bookstore and read about how to solve your problem.

Go to the drugstore and buy the protection you need.

Do something every day that you can look forward to, whether it's walking on the beach, playing with your dog, or listening to your favorite music in the morning.

List any positive behaviors you can use to improve your life.

...There is something you can do to improve your life. If you don't know what it is, seek help and research the problem and the solutions. For phone numbers and web sites on teenage problems see our Help Directory .
